Replacing existing Wordpress site with cloned site

I cloned an existing site (http://www.longbeachyachtclub.com) so I could work on it without disturbing the existing site.  I now need to replace the existing site with the cloned site (dev.longbeachyachtclub.com).  Chat Support said just copy the development site files in to the public_html of the existing site.  The folder is already there.  So, I'm confused.  I used Installatron to clone the site.  That part was super easy.  I do not understand why it is so difficult to replace the existing site with the cloned site.  Any help would be much appreciated.

As both of these sites are on GoDaddy I would recommend setting up both sites in https://pro.godaddy.com/sites  then you can run the backup on both sites and then clone the dev site to the live site
