    (solved) Several domain names for the same Godaddy Managed Wordpress site

    Hello All !

    We recently moved all our WordPress sites from a Godaddy Shared Hosting to the Godaddy Managed Wordpress platform. Several of the sites are using multiple domain names to point to it. For example: http://greatdomain.com and the typical mistake of typing plural: http://greatdomains.com . By having those 2 domains point to the same wordpress, we are sure to display web pages to people typing the URL whichever way.

    Some people would also like to have different domain names landing on the same WordPress instance, and use a code that "reads the domain name" and use that for the title of the pages, so that each domain name looks like it is landing on its own website...

    Unfortunately, it appears GoDaddy only accommodates for ONE domain on a managed wordpress instance.

    Any suggestion on how to have several domains working with a Godaddy Managed Wordpress site ?

    Thanks!

    To use multiple sub-domain's you'll need a WordPress Multi-Site network. I'm not weather Godaddy provides these facility in Managed WordPress.

    Linux Shared Hosting is good for these

    Re: (solved) Several domain names for the same Godaddy Managed Wordpress site

    The Godaddy support rep we last talked to indicated that this was not possible; but as it turns out the option actually exists !! It's just not very intuitive to find ! Here is how to get there:

    * Go to the SETTINGS page of your managed wordpress

    * On the top right, click on the 3 dots icon near the [WP Admin] button

    * Select "Change domain"

    * On the top right, click the [Add a domain] button

    Hope it helps others !
