Stout / Primer Theme Removal Question

Hi,

I am using Stout as my theme for my site ESTNN Esports

I am wondering if I can delete the Primer theme. 

At the top of the appearance editor for Stout it says "This child theme inherits templates from a parent theme, Primer."

What exactly does that mean?

I am trying to optimize my website speed and would like to remove unnecessary items.

Hi there!

So, Stout is a child-theme of Primer. This means Stout is built on Primer's code, so it requires the base theme. The good news is these themes aren't resource heavy at all, so the effect on speed that having them is negligible. Also, it's always good to have another option in case your main theme breaks.
