Why do I have a bank transfer failure?

If you aren’t receiving payouts, you may have a bank transfer failure or a delayed payment. Bank transfer failures can happen if incorrect or outdated bank account info is associated to your GDP account. We want to make sure your money is going to the right place - so if there’s an issue with the bank account linked to your GoDaddy Payments account, we will not be able to pay you out.

How do I know if I have a bank transfer failure?

We will notify you via email if you have a bank transfer failure. Check your inbox for an email from GoDaddy titled either Credit failure: We’re unable to process your payouts due to an error or Debit failure: Action needed: We’re unable to collect funds from your account.

Why do I have a bank transfer failure, and how can I fix it?

If you received an email titled Credit failure: We’re unable to process your payouts due to an error, the issue may be an incorrect routing/account number or closed account.

If you received an email titled Debit failure: Action needed: We’re unable to collect funds from your account, the issue may be insufficient funds.

If you received an email titled We're unable to validate your bank account, the issue is a failed credit or debit (or both) as a result of us attempting to validate your bank account.

Here's more information about these issues:

  • Incorrect routing/account number: If the bank account information in your GoDaddy Payments account contains an incorrect routing or account number, we won’t be able to pay you out. Connect a new, active bank account to your GoDaddy Payments account to fix this. Once your account information has been updated, you will be able to receive payouts again starting on the next business day.
  • Closed account: We can't transfer money to a closed bank account. Connect a new, active bank account to your GoDaddy Payments account to fix this. Once your account information has been updated, we will begin paying you out again on the next business day.
  • Insufficient funds: The bank account connected to your GoDaddy Payments account may not have sufficient funds to cover fees. When calculating your payout, we debit for fees at the same time – GDP fees are subtracted from that day’s sales. If the fees exceed that day’s sales, and your account does not have sufficient funds to cover those fees, we won’t be able to pay you out. Connect a new bank account with sufficient balance to cover fees. Once your account information has been updated, you will be able to receive payouts again starting on the next business day.
  • Validation failure: When you connect a bank account to GoDaddy Payments, we automatically deposit and withdraw $0.01 from your account to verify your bank information. If there is an issue with this transaction, we won’t be able to pay you out. Connect a new bank account to your GoDaddy Payments account to fix this. Once your account information has been updated, you will be able to receive payouts again starting on the next business day.
